WLCU is the only Lebanese Organization recognized by the Lebanese government to represent Lebanese expatriats or Non Resident Lebanese (NRL) World Wide. It is a nonprofit organization and was organized and chartered in 1960 in Beirut and has operated in the US in New York since 1973.
World Lebanese Cultural Union (WLCU) is an independent, civilian, non-political, non-racial and non-religious organization, recognized by the Lebanese Government as the sole representative of Non Resident Lebanese (NRL) world wide.
The Union consists of Lebanese Citizens and the descendants of Lebanese, who make up the branches, clubs, societies and associations.
WLCU aims to consolidate the various interest between the countries of residence and Lebanon, and to support the Lebanese entity and highlight the identity and salient attributes of Lebanese by preserving Lebanese heritage of NRL.
The wars against Lebanon advesly impacted Lebanon's identity and cultural heritage. During the recent history wars, the NRL was focused and working on enhacing the image of Lebanon to the world and in turn, the WLCU especially had a great role in creating a positive image.
In order to combat the risks that Lebanon historically faced and will continue to face today and in the future, the NRL needs to continue to play an active role and take a greater responsibility through the WLCU, which will continue to collaborate constructively with other Lebanese organizations and institutions to support our homeland and national identity.
Therefore, we see our role of the utmost importance and we invite you to join and/or support the cause of the WLCU.Since our organization was established, we have endeavored to achive our mission. Our team is made up entirely of volunteers.
That is why we are especially happy to find new volunteers who share our commitment. Do you want to support us by helping with our work? Please do not hesitate to contact us. A helping hand is always greatly appreciated!
